4 Wines We Can’t Wait to Sip at Mirbeau’s Oregon Wine Dinner

Driven by a passion for Pinot Noir and a love of the land, Don and Wendy Lange founded their winery in the Dundee Hills of Oregon’s northern Willamette Valley and today, their son Jesse joins them on their endeavors, making it a true family business.

The Willamette Valley region is recognized as one of the world’s premier Pinot Noir producing areas because of its climate, and for thirty years, the Lange family has been producing some of the finest wines and earning accolades from across the globe. On September 20th, Wendy Lange will join us at Mirbeau for an Oregon Wine Dinner at 6:30PM in Henri-Marie to discuss the Estate and its vineyards, the history of wine making in the Dundee Hills, and the Lange wines themselves. Chef Jeremy Martin’s multi-course dinner will be paired with wines curated by our Hotel Sommelier, Errol Joseph.

Here are four wines we can’t wait to sip at the Oregon Wine Dinner:

2015 Pinot Gris, Willamette Valley – Rated a ‘90’ by Wine Enthusiast, this wine features ripe, tropical fruits and a perfect balance of fine acidity. It will be paired with the meal’s first course of Pan Seared Sea Scallops with fine herbs, citrus salad and gold carrot coulis.

2014 Chardonnay, Willamette Valley – This Chard is toasty with hints of lemon, vanilla and a silky finish, and will be paired with Savory Heirloom Cherry Tomatoes with Vermont Chevre and Pine Nut Tarte.

2011 ‘Freedom Hill Vineyard’ Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley – Rated a ‘91’ by Wine Enthusiast, this wine opens slowly with raspberry and cherry flavors and juicy acidity. It will be paired with Chef Martin’s Crispy-skin Steelhead Trout with brown butter, butternut squash purée, and oyster mushrooms.

2013 ‘Reserve’ Pinot Noir, Willamette Valley – Rated a ‘93’ by Wine Enthusiast, This Pinot Noir offers rich and complex character with raspberry, cherry and licorice notes. It will be paired with Pan-roasted Muscovy Duck Breast with dark-cherry & sultana gastrique, fingerling potatoes.

Guests will also enjoy locally-inspired, seasonal hors d’oeuvres paired with the 2016 Rosé, Willamette Valley, and an autumnal dessert (featuring McIntosh Apples and ‘gooey’ nuts and oats). Are you hungry yet?
